Bella Vista Water Project

Bella Vista is a small village about 2.5 hours outside Danli. This village has approximately 30 homes that were using one small hose to bring water from a natural spring to the homes in the village. Now, this village has a clean water source with a natural filter, a large 7,800-gallon water tank, and PVC pipes to the homes for a more sustainable water source.

This is the new natural filter that the villagers built. There was no filter in place before this, and the water source was easily contaminated by animals living in the surrounding trees.
Beautiful new filter with sand, gravel, and rock to naturally filter the spring water. The PVC pipe goes from here to the water tank.

The tank is built on the hillside of Bella Vista.
The tank has a cement lid to avoid contamination.
If the water in the tank gets contaminated for any reason, there is an additional section where purification chemicals can be added to the water in a controlled way to ensure its safety.
These valves come from the tank and lead to the homes in the village.
This is the home of a member of the water board and the gentleman who graciously donated the land where the water source is to the community.
They now have a beautiful 'pila' which is a place to store the water. They also added a shower on the right and a toilet on the left.
